German Pilsners are hit or miss - even in Germany. This one by 14th Star totally delivered a 5-star experience all around.
It pours a gorgeous rich golden straw color with decent white foam. (Most German Pilsners are pale yellow, not at all pretty.) The nose is immediately happy with a summer grass and cracker aroma.
The taste follows suit. Unlike most German Pilsners, this one does not have that weird German citrusy hop zing. It's extremely balanced with a touch of malty sweetness.
Solid!
