22 ounce bottle poured into a tulip
A: Pours black with some mahogany edges, tan colored head, no head retention, some minor lacing, not seeing a whole lot of carbonation.
A: Chocolate, vanilla, caramel, some bourbon, hints of toasted coconut, alcohol is coming through, smells complex, and it has some depth.
T: A touch of bourbon up front, hints of toasted coconut, vanilla, caramel, some oak, moderate amount of bitterness, some chocolate in the aftertaste, a little heat from the alcohol, but this is pretty good.
M: Medium mouthfeel, semi-dry finish, alcohol is noticeable especially as the beer warms.
O: This is very tasty, balanced, bourbon doesn't overwhelm any other of the beers characteristics, it's a little hot but that may improve with some time in the cellar. Definitely going to pick up another bottle.
