Welcome back to New Porters & Stouts Sunday (Week 729), A Divergence From Happy New Russian Stone Beer Sunday (Week 729)! Thanks goes out to my local, in-person trader, @tone77 for CANtinuing to further The CANQuest (tm) during his travels.
From the CAN: "Limited Series"; "This medium-bodied brew has smooth notes of chocolate and coffee, as well as a delicious roasty taste to round it all off."; "Enjoy!"
I certainly hope to live up to their admonition. It CAN't happen without first Crack!ing open the vent & performing a slow, C-Line Glug. I am becoming fatigued & I really don't want to have to deal with cleaning up a mess, if one were to occur. Oooh. A spritz across my fingertips revealed a brimful craft CAN! That is always so exciting. Equally exciting was the pseudo-cascade that took place as I poured. It quickly settled into just under three fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, deep-tan/light-brown head with great retention. Color was Black/Opaque (SRM = 44), allowing ZERO light penetration. Nose was rich & redolent with dark, black coffee, the kind we used to look forward to on the Mess Decks! Mmm. Coffee. Mouthfeel was big, full & creamy. Yay! I like a solid mouthfeel in/from a Stout. The taste was very much of deep, dark-roasted coffee, but its bitterness was rather low, making it eminently drinkable. I do not mind bitterness, either from hops or coffee, but this was made better at this late hour by virtue of its absence. Finish was dry, certainly not sweet, with a certain je ne-sais quois. Why did I like it so much? Was it the coffee? Was it the drinkability? Was it that I was getting punchy? Who knows. YMMV.

It looks like I am the first to review this beer. Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a black color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of strong coffee with light cream. Taste is coffee, chocolate, some smokiness, Feels full bodied in the mouth and overall is a quality beer worth trying.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
