Aroma of citrus, some pine and mustiness. Brilliant clarity with a nice , slightly off-white head of foam. Bright yellow color with golden center in the glass. Good mouthfeel, not at all thin or watery like some single hop beers. Good malt with a light lingering caramel character that works well with the Mosaic profile. Lingering bitterness and enough IBU's to keep it interesting without being a hop bomb. Very pleasant beer, I will be looking for more.

Wiens Brewing Co. "Fortune Teller Mosaic"
12 fl. oz. brown glass bottle without production codes or freshness dating
$2 @ Giant, Havertown, PA
Notes via stream of consciousness: Beautiful looking glass of beer! It's got a fingerprint-through-the-glass clarity to its golden-amber body with an orange sheen, and a two-finger thick head of rocky off-white foam. The head is holding remarkably well, and leaving walls of broken lace behind as it goes. In the nose it falters. I get what's almost like "wort", and no hops at all. Perhaps once the head has subsided. Let me take a sip... the rich maltiness remains and it's not quite as wort-like, and there are some hops, but hardly enough I think to specifically note them on the label, and this is labeled as a "single Hop IPA". I get some of the berry usually found in Mosaic hops, and some mango and citrus, and there's certainly a lot of pine in the dry finish so I guess that does exemplify the hops properly. The malt is bready, grainy, lightly toasty, and subtly caramelish. The alcohol is "present" at 7.0% ABV, but doesn't really show, and it's got a solid bitterness to it. It's medium bodied and gently crisp. Unless my nose has stopped working I'm still not finding the hops in the aroma, just a light, kind of generic tropical-pine note. So, sorry about the nose, other than that it's really quite good.

Orange tinged see through with a light tan head for the look of this brew (quite nice). Scent has a light citrus character with a malt back. Good mosaic hops gentle citrus flavor that blends well with malts. Pretty tasty but something slightly caramel in the malt finish I don't completely like. This brew also has some lingering bitterness. Somewhat creamy and pretty well carbonated. A pretty decent offering.
