Poured from the 22 oz bottle purchased at Bine & Vine in San Diego for $12.49. This is the 2015 edition of what they say is an annual release. A great beer I didn't know about.

This is hugely malty as well as hugely hoppy, so it's a bruiser of a beer. Appearance in the Oud Bruin goblet is lovely, with persistent foam on the clear orangey amber brew. Expansive aroma of orange and honeysuckle. Spritzy and creamy in the mouth.

Flavor is mango with a machete and no prisoners taken. Powerful but not tasting much of alcohol. Somehow the bitterness level does not rise into the red zone. Overall, this is quite deliciously aromatic and so sweet it makes a nice sipping beer for a nightcap. Or a rocket fuel shooter to start a night of mayhem.

A very light beer for its high ABV and IBU but still enjoyable. Strong taste of grapefruit as well.

On tap at Wiens Brewing Company in Temecula, CA.

Pours a murky dark orange with a foamy bone head that fades to nothing. Small dots of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, honey, citrus zest, and slight onion and garlic hop aromas. Taste is much the same with onion and garlic flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is fairly drinkable but the onion and garlic hop presence is not too good.
