R’Eye IPA Session IPA
4% ABV 40 IBU’s
On Tap at the Brewery – Temecula, CA
Notes from 08/18/13 - 4oz taster
A: Light caramel amber color with fine clarity and just a thin rim of off-white foam. Low hang time and not a whole lot of stick either. A few dots and slippery streaks remain.
S: Smells hoppy with a nice blend between fruity and floral. There is a strong lemony citrus accent to the nose with some lesser elements of pine noted. Very light on the malts here. Pretty enjoyable aromas.
T: Tastes of fruity hops with some nice developed citrus character and a bit of emerging botanicals. Lemony and slightly tropical. There is a hit of rye spice coming through an otherwise very light and dry crackery malt base. Nice moderate levels of bitterness and no alcohol present as expected. Really refreshing and quite tasty.
M: Very light and dry with a crisp snappy finish. Nice upper moderate levels of carb give a creamy consistency through to that dry finish. Very thin as a session should be. Some light restricting bitterness and resinous character noted.
D: This is a pretty nice sessions IPA. Very similar to some of the stuff Rip Current is putting out. Could use a little more hop punch but all in all pretty tasty and crushable stuff.
Would order this one again.
