2015 vintage; drank 12/30/15 on draft @ Bangers & Lace Evanston.

Black appearance.

Tan head; minimal lace.

Banana, caramel & milk chocolate notes in the nose.

Medium thick mouthfeel.

Banana, cream & milk chocolate notes in the nose; faint vanilla notes in the finish.

I wish there was more vanilla & less Belgian yeast here, but it was still quite enjoyable.

This is the second release of Spectral, this one with Vanilla Beans brewed for the 2015/2016 winter. Overall, this beer is slightly thin but very roasty stout. The vanilla adds a sweet and creaminess to it, but overall quite subtle. It's basically a roasty stout with some sweetness to it.
