Had on tap. Roasted black appearance with hazy gray layering on the top. Smell is rich caramel with toasted coconut, vanilla, chocolate and sweet rice. The taste unfortunately has a cumulative burnt metal flavor, perhaps from over-toasting the coconut, a temperamental ingredient. Body is medium to thick, creamy with some dust on the finish.

12oz can, PKG 1/17/19. Magnificent pour: initially looks like a very thick black beer that has no head. So I go with a rigorous pour, and what unfolds is a thick and creamy tan head that grows and grows to the top of the glass but doesn't overflow. The head slowly fades up allowing the beer to eventually grow taller from the bottom up. The tall head holds its retention forever leaving a thick foam on the side of the glass. Aroma is very sweet as expected: coconut and vanilla permeate the nose along with lactose and milk chocolate. Extremely sweet in taste with bold notes of milk chocolate, vanilla, toasted coconut, lactose, mild roasted barley & earthy hops add a bit of bitterness. Insanely full mouth-feel; thick, creamy, and smooth; finishes with a mild bitterness similar to baker's chocolate, but there is still some residual sweetness there as well; ABV is 11.5%, but is untraceable in flavor. This was delicious, but being so sweet, 12oz was enough for me.
