16oz can
canned on 06/03/2021
thanks to Ken once again!
L: hazy golden-yellow body, foamy off-white head
S: floral orange, tropical fruit, wheat, lemongrass
T: orange blends in nicely with notes of grapefruit, tropical fruit, floral citrus, wheat, grass, faint pine
F: medium body, moderate carbonation, balanced finish
O: good use of orange with this one as it was not overdone, but I always seem to feel orange doesn’t turn out that well in IPAs

Served from the can in a Lagunitas mason jar.
Hoping to get a trip to Geneva in this weekend, including a stop at Penrose, so we're priming tonight with some summer-inspired fare. This stuff pours a hazy amber-lemonade topped by a finger of white foam. The nose comprises grass, flowers, light biscuit, light orange peel, and a touch of cracked wheat. The taste brings in more of the same, along with some sharp orange pith and some additional greens for good measure. It's a bit muddled on the tongue, as the grassier hops clash with the orange, but it's not extreme. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a drying finish. Overall, a nice-enough IPA, but the slightly clashing hop profiles didn't quite do it for me.

I tried a can of this beer at the doghouse while in the 'Wego visiting old friends and neighbors. It was poured into a red solo cup and it was dark out...but it looked like it poured a hazy golden with white head. The scent had fresh fruit hops with bold orange notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright citrus presence and subtle fruit peel finish. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.
