A 'Belgian Farmhouse Wit with Rocket' brewed for GABS Festival in Melbourne, May 2014. Tried there on tap.
Pours a very pale straw colour, almost clear. Head is white, foamy but doesn't stick around. Could use a bit more cloud.
Smells of rubber, with a touch of new world hops giving passionfruit edge. Notes of coriander as well. Fairly Belgian, also fairly subdued.
Taste is quite spicy. Grainy upfront with a smooth oatmeal kind of maltiness, then lots of spicy piquant herbal characters mid-to-late, with lots of coriander seed coming through and a decent dank bitterness. Not a huge amount of rocket character, but just enough to make its presence known. Pleasant.
Body is decent and surprisingly filling for the style.
Nice, pleasant beer with a touch of herbalness. Well crafted.
