Tasted in a Spiegelau lager glass from a 12 fl oz bottle on December 24, 2019. A Czech style pilsner brewed with sake lees – the fermented rice used in the production of their sakes. While rice is traditionally used in lager beers to add alcohol and lighten the body without adding flavor, these sake lees are added to lend a floral overlay of honeysuckle and jasmine to a crisp, subtly malty pilsner reminiscent of the imported lager beers served at your local, entirely forgettable neighborhood sushi place.

Look: Slightly hazy pale gold. One finger of foamy white head with good retention.
Smell: Bright, fruity malt with a mild citrus hop note. Small bubblegum note.
Taste: Biscuity malt with a lingering cracker aftertaste. No noticeable hops.
Mouthfeel: Smooth, light, and highly carbonated.
Overall: Light, crisp, and refreshing.

Off Color does it again !
They preserve an obscure regional style and seem to make one as good as the style's masters.
And Koi, to my tastes, seems better than I remember Uehara/Echigo's offering.
After an exuberant (slightly over-flowing) pop-of-the-top, Koi's Looks and Smells are good; but no "wow" is involved. With a mere 18 IBU, a dryness is produced within a nice blend of cereals. (I am starting to like rice.) Then Koi sits in my mouth soft, soft, soft. I had some 24 hours later and it was little changed. It suited my lunch of soup and sandwich fine.
