250ml bottle served in a little sample glass. If there's a date, I don't see it, but it's probably a one-off.
Pours clear dark gold with a medium sized head, slightly aggressive carbonation. Smell is tart, unripe nectarines, maybe a little lemon.
Taste is substantially in the same zone as the smell, but adds in a ton of chardonnay butteriness and a little oak, and a mild funkiness. Not as sour as I thought it would be based on the aroma.
Mouthfeel is medium, slick, with a moderately dry finish. Overall, quite nice.

Pours a burnt orange. Fairly vibrant, with a negligible amount of thin, short-lived white head. Aroma has a healthy amount of yeasty barnyard funk, with some nice underlying notes from the foedre. Taste is an explosion of wild funk....much more than the nose. It's not overwhelming, but it's complex...so much so that I don't think I can even pick out individual notes. There's just a good blend of different yeast strains that work together to create an interesting, tart, lively, refreshing beer. Digging this one quite a bit.

Appearance: Pours slightly hazy, the amber liquid covered by two fingers of foam; good retention and splashy lacing
Smell: Funky yeast aromatics with hints of lemon-lime, green apple and musty basement
Taste: A lot of subtle flavors here, with lemon-lime and green apple prominent but some stone fruit, white wine grape; musty basement tones emerge, after the swallow, with a dry oaky aspect and just a bit of an acetic edge
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate to high carbonation
Overall: The wild yeast impact here makes for a really interesting Lambic-style beer

a near perfect wild ale. spontaneously fermented perfection. funky with the complexity of the aging process, the thing that blew my mind about this beer was that it wasn't fruit forward or too sweet, but was still perfectly balanced. I'll drink this every time I see it.

13 July 2020 - Beer #142
Corona Day #123
Price: $5.99 at Clinton Gourmet Corp. in Manhattan
Appearance: 4 - bright orange with a small white head. Looks like an apricot.
Nose: 4 - not much fruit, but plenty of funk.
Taste: 4 - similar to the nose. Tons and tons of funk with a little of the fruit.
Mouth: 4 - pretty bubbly, quite a bit of action. Not too thin. Quite well done, actually.
Overall: 4 - a very pleasant funky sour. Just wish the bottle was larger than 8.5 oz.
Cheers!

Slightly dirty looking, almost; very light haze, and a dark, burnished gold color. Decent head production and OK retention for the style - I wasn't expecting much.
Lovely nose, with a light but notable tartness and funk. Honey and wild flowers.
Very drinkable; quite rustic. Yeast expression drives the flavor profile. Light citrus, musty funk, honey, pale grains, oak. Very low tartness on the palate.

heady collaboration obviously here, i assume they brought the wild cultures of these incredible breweries together for this recipe. i never had the first one, but was over the moon to find this second volume on tap! i dont believe there is fruit in it, its all about the fermentation profile, and its special, but it also has plenty of fruity notes to it, really complex, but it takes a minute to open up, a bit too cold when it was served to me, so some patience really paid off! pale rusty colored, nice white head on it, good retention and lace, nice carbonation. insanely interesting nose, citrusy for sure, sweet orange and meyer lemon, some hints of lime leaf and white wine too, peach and apricot, ripe as can be, off dry in the nose, and super funky, less acidic than others, less acidic than i thought it would be with side project involved, more funky, allagash and jester king subtlety on the brett side, mature beer overall though, huge stone fruit, wet basement, and even a lambic element, its complex as can be, patient and nuanced, and when i hold it in my mouth i taste the best of all of these breweries somehow, no matter how this is made, it just pops with funk and fruit, crazy interesting. strong white wine character here too, a little estery belgian layer, like taffy or something, and some light vanilla and wood. great carbonation, a little lemony tartness, a dusty maturity too. its awesome they were able to bring all of these legend together for one brew, im sure this will age well, but its awesome now too. felt almost guilty drinking something so special by myself, but couldnt miss this one. stunning wild beer here from several of the best!

After gushing out of the bottle, the remainder of the beer has a beautiful honey gold body with a decent frothy white head; decent sheeting inside the glass. Nice vinous aroma; white grapes; lemony; wood. Great taste combing tangy sourness with some lemon-like tones; acidic; white grape must. Light body; slightly fuzzy and dry; crisp and tart.
Despite losing a fair portion of the 250 ml contents due to over-carbonation (sorry, but points off appearance for that), the beer itself is pleasant and light on the palate. This is a very approachable wild ale, clean and refreshing with a solid lemon/lime presence and the barest suggestion of the foeder aging. I would certainly grab another bottle if given the opportunity.

Had on tap. Bright golden body with white foam head and lacing. Expressive aromas of cotton candy, grape must and fruit, apricot, sourdough malts, pineapple, melon, clementine, peach with lots of oak and barnyard funk. Taste has a good funky must to it up front, with the oak setting the palate for all of the ripe and soured fruit, funk undergirds the malts well and helps provide a satisfying crisp, dry and clean finish. Feel is a bit bready with slows you down, but also anchors the flavors well, with good funkiness and oak sourness through out.
