Beer for….Movies this time around. The inspiration is salted popcorn and I think Off Color did a great job hitting that flavor. It is a nice, toasted cereal Kolsch with a much more bready profile than the classic gold ale. It is slightly salty and the salinity make you drink it a bit faster.

More like beer for porch drinking. Light, snappy and refreshing.

First time... On tap @ The Mousetrap.
Looks good in the glass. Smells are mute with some citrus and some smoke; possibly there are some popcorn elements in there, but not much reminds me of fresh popcorn. This was served too cold for me to appreciate its Tastes. Too bubbly in my mouth; penetrated the tongue in an unpleasant way.
I like these guys a lot, but their Beer For line is getting to be more creative than their respective brews.
Is popcorn kolsch an actual variation of the style... or is that Off Color just exercising its sense of humor and alliteration?
3/22/22 Had this time poured a pint can into my Off Color tulip and drank it at home at my temperature. And actually drank it with freshly-popped popcorn. Improved the Taste rating and OA for creativity and yet another really cute can. Counting @ UnTappd.

Had on tap. This was an odd one, where some parts of the sip I really enjoyed the balance of the buttery malt, slight salt, and smoke, but did not like when it turned to burnt popcorn at the bottom of the bag. So I fought it most of the way down the glass. Smell, being more of a composite, was slightly more enjoyable, get some lemon notes too. Feel has a strong backbone, smoke textures are pervasive, medium bodied. More interesting than good
