This batch of Scurry cans are nitrogenated, which means you’re going to have pour your beer a little differently and drink it out of a glass. We know, we know. The horror, the horror.
Officially a Kottbusser (don’t worry, no one else knows what that is either so go ahead and call it a Dark Honey Ale), Scurry is a traditional German style speciality beer featuring honey and molasses. These are added post boil so the minimal contact time helps the beer retain delicate aromatics that would otherwise be volatilized by the heat of the kettle. Wort high in these sorts of simple sugars can often produce a hot alcohol flavor; however, a cool, controlled fermentation avoids this pitfall allowing the beer to finish dry without any boozy detractors. Honey, molasses and milk chocolate aromas melded with oatmeal and bread crust flavors creating the perception of sweetness with a surprisingly dry finish. This newest batch is our first time doing nitrogenated cans, so enjoy and remember to hard pour for the full nitro experience! Now available at Mousetrap with local distribution to follow.

I always liked Scurry and felt it was close to being an OCB flagship. But I didn't think Scurry needed to go Nitro.
But it did and it's not bad because it builds on a good recipe. Can't keep good inventors down and OCB is among the best.
Nitro Looks interesting, but the foam scurries away and I'm left with a glass of flat amber. Smells are all malt. Despite all the sweet malt, Tastes are balanced with just the right blend of bittering hops creates a surprisingly semi-dry finish. Medium-mouthed to full for me and so soft.
