On-tap at Smallbar Logan Square for the Nu dance party and picnic.
A - White foam settles to a thin cap and minimal lacing. Hazy, pale lemonade-looking body.
S - Smells like Troublesome gose mixed with lemonade. Light notes of coriander and salt from the base beer and lots of lemon and wheat. Pretty much what you'd expect from this combination, and lots of flavor for 2.5%.
T - The taste is quite similar, with a fair amount of spice and salt persisting through the lemonade addition. The lemonade flavor isn't as intense here, although it imparts some additional sweetness late on the palate. Finishes a tad salty, with the lemon tartness masking the lactic character of Troublesome.
M - Surprisingly gritty and tannic texture. Medium-light body, with a dry, crisp, finish. Pleasant, active carbonation that keeps things refreshing. Goes down super easy.
D - A very nice Lemon Radler. I liked this a bit more than Gossamer Shandy. Would love for this to be made again next summer, if only because it will lead to more Screw You Jeremy Danner.

First draft at the CBS Umpteenth Annual Picnic.
Hazed pale yellow with a good layer of frothy white foam on the surface. A little bit of lace around the edges but not much.
Faint lemony smell, thankfully not sweet, but the lemonade seems to obscure the Troublesome part of the mix, at least in the aroma.
Taste is tart, mildly tangy and slick like lemonade. Lemonade is the dominant flavor, though you can tell there's a mix of some beer in there somewhere. Faintly wheaty, but not really as nuanced as Troublesome is on it's own. Lower carb, supple feel, very quenching.
It is what it is, a beer/lemonade/shandy/what have you. Refreshing at a summer picnic when it's hot out, after a run or bike ride, but not something i'd drink a whole lot of.

Troublesome Gose + fresh lemonade = crazy delicious.
Oddball tick? Classic SmallBar Logan Square...
Appearance -- Hazy straw, whispy white head. Inoffensive.
Smell -- Not terribly aromatic, to be honest. Lemon? Husky grain? All in my head??
Taste -- Zesty, tart, vibrant. Sweet/tart lemon meets lactic and husky grain. Perfect marriage.
Mouthfeel -- light-bodied, spritzy, just the right amount of pucker.
Overall -- Amazing radler. The best I've had, if only for the unparalelled freshness. Would drink again. And again. And again...
