Very nice, not over done. On tap at the brewery on Friday, March 8, 2019. This was just 1 of a few very good stouts that I tried. They all were very dark in color with a nice lacing and tasty.

12oz bottle, served in a snifter glass. Pours a dark black body, slight dark cola brown hue, one finger offwhite head, short retention and not much lacing. Smell is chocolate fudge, bourbon, milk chocolate, a bit of cocoa, light earth, touch of graham crackers. Flavour follows; milk chocolate, cocoa, whiskey oak and a touch of vanillin lingering; slight earthy bitterness and a bit of graham crackery sweetness. Mouthfeel is medium bodied, good carbonation, creamy and smooth, no heat. Very good bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout with a nice flavour to it.

Tried two versions of this, First was the scotch barrel and the second being bourbon barrel. Both were good but preferred the bourbon barrel as it's basically the quintessential BBA stout. Well balanced and would definitely buy again. With the scotch barrel version I got all scotch, aspects of the stout are really lost here. I suppose this is for those of you that really enjoy your scotch.

Had on tap. Taste is the most exciting in that the complexity of the chocolates, oat and booze together is best seen there. Smell is more monotone than taste, but very pleasant. Combines in the body to make dark sweet bread elements as well. Feels like it is missing the wow factor to set it over the top
