Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a fine, one finger brown head with great retention and thick lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, caramel and chocolate; nice. Flavor follows, with semi-sweet dark toasted malt, dark chocolate and caramel. Finishes with lingering dark chocolate and caramel. Medium bodied with light creaminess and bright carbonation. A great dessert stout that nails the promised chocolate caramel. Both the caramel and chocolate flavors are authentic and taste like a quality version of their namesakes. The malt is a bit in the background, but robust enough to support the other flavors well. Nice balance and some of the best lingering chocolate I've tasted in a while. Nicely done.
