Our annual barrel-aged imperial stout this year was aged for a year in Laws 7 year bourbon barrels. We then added cold press coffee from Nine Doors coffee, Ghana cocoa husks, and Ugandan cocoa nibs.

Tar black body; thin, wispy ring of foam with a corresponding thin patch of head on top of the beer. Nice roasted grain smell infused with bourbon barrel notes. Huge boozy presence in the taste; cocoa and baker's chocolate flavors; coffee grounds. Heavy body; slick and oily; big alcohol warmth cuts through the residual sugars.
This is an eye-popping imperial stout. The inherent ABV plus the barrel-aging definitely smack you in the face. The mocha sits quietly in the background but does add some minor depth to things.
51 °F; no canning data seen on the can or label.
