Tar black body; thin, wispy head. Fine charred grain aroma; a touch of sweetness and cinnamon. Dark sweetness with the taste; roasted coconut; boozy, notes of bourbon; earthy spiciness; wet oak. Heavy body; slick and oily on the palate; alcohol warmth; semi-sweet mouthfeel throughout the taste.
A big yet somewhat rough barrel-aged imperial stout. The coconut and cinnamon certainly make their presence known but they're not too overblown in that regard. The high ABV is also prominent, perhaps accentuated with the barrel aging. This is a bit of a toss-up as far as the overall score, but I'll stick with my current impressions. A fine, high ABV barrel-aged imperial stout with some nice flavor adjuncts.
Poured at 46 °F; no canning date seen on the label.
