This one pours a dark-ish brown color, with a small head, and no lacing.
This smells like booze, and weirdly for an English barleywine, leafy hops, with rye spice, caramel, breadiness, toffee, oak, and dark fruit.
There's a lot of hop character to this one, which is peculiar for the style and the fact that there's three separate barrel treatments going on here. The barrels are quite nice though, with lots of rye and dark fruit coming from likely both the port and the cognac. There's also a dry oaky spice.
This is medium bodied, and decently boozy, with a dry finish.
I wanted a bit more out of this one, but the barrel character was interesting enough to carry this one overall for me.
