Poured a clear mahoganyn color; nice off-white head, pours fairly thick then fades to thin ring and patches of foam. Wonderful lightly roasted nose; light yet rich smell of cocoa and rye. The taste brings some earthy sweetness and rye bread crust to the palate; a light cocoa flavor; delicate earthy spiciness; light bitterness. Medium mouthfeel; smooth and richly slick on the palate; lightly sticky.
The brewery lists this as a Kentucky common beer. The beer grows more expressive as it warms up. Some may describe this as a dark cream ale. I can also see this as similar to a dark mild or brown ale. Regardless, this is a tasty little number.

Poured on-tap at the brewery and served in a shaker pint, the beer is an opaque, ruby brown coloring, with a halo of thick, off-white head. Nose of subtle cream highlights on subtle chocolate notes, and spicy grain characteristics. Good balance in the nose. Flavors are sweet and smooth forward, but with a spicy, toasted grain backbone. Milk chocolate and cream overlays. Smooth and mid-bodied, with a tangy sweet and roasty aftertaste. The finish is slightly cloying, with a solid roasted linger.

A Kentucky Common style ale....which I am lead to believe is a dark cream ale.
Pours purplish-brown with a amber hue to it and an off white head. Aroma has some sweet breadiness to it, its got some creaminess to it, some brown sugar, a little chocolate and roastiness, and maybe a hint of some dark fruits or something. Flavor pretty much followed suit. A light, medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel. Overall, very enjoyable beer. Would definitely drink again.
