Despite being brewed with orange blossoms, Floral Orange is refered by Wick's as a blonde ale. On the many warm days in Riverside, it sounds like a treat. On-tap at the brewery itself, on to the beer:
Incomplete without a head, as the glass is gently toasted orange colored with hues of yellow and barely a string a lace to be found. Looks lifeless, but smells vibrant. The aroma of candied oranges come out in spades. There's also a passionfruit note. Vague fruit syrup arrives, as being a big player, gets the nose confused whether this is an American blonde or a strong Belgian ale.
Taste of orange, yes sir. The orange also has a sting of bitterness attached which isn't 100% to my liking. There are other fruity notes taste too, primarily banana and a kiss of passionfruit. The orange flavor also comes in a concentrated syrupy style. Despite the lack of head, the beer is moderately carbonated with a syrupy texture.
Floral Orange has a solid taste overall. It's also thicker that I would have expected, so don't approach it as something to knock back real quick.
