A: Pours a medium yellow in color with heavy amounts of active visible carbonation streaming quickly from the bottom of the glass and some golden yellow highlights. The beer has a two finger tall fizzy foamy white head that reduces to a thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate aromas of yeast - more Belgian than saison smelling. There are light to moderate aromas of light + stone fruits (apple and peach) along with just a hint of spices. Light aromas of grainy and pale malts.
T: Upfront there is a light to moderate flavor of pale and grainy malts with minimal amounts of sweetness (if any). That is followed by light to moderate flavors of light + stone fruits with apple being most dominant but a light flavor of nectarine as well. Finally the flavors of the yeast really take over - traditional Belgian yeast with the hint of pastiness and just a touch of light spices/pepper. Minimal bitterness in the finish and it fades pretty quickly.
M: Just shy of medium bodied with heavy amounts of carbonation. Light amounts of dryness in the finish.
O: Not a typical saison but still interesting and worth trying. I think of it more as a hybrid between a Belgian Pale Ale and a Saison but I feel like it works.
