King of the Britons! King of the Who has made a comeback this year and it's better than ever. Still made with a ton of our homegrown fresh hops added at the end of the boil. A great rich beer with an assertive bitterness makes this a perfect fall bitter.

Bottle from the brewery. Big thanks to my wife for picking it up. Served in a Cantillon tulip.
A - A finger of white foam settles to a near-complete cap, thick collar, and splotches of lace on the sides of the glass. Lightly hazed dark amber-brown body.
S - Biscuit and toasty malts, with a dollop of honey and caramel. A bit of nebulous red fruit, and some earth and slightly zesty hops. Pretty much on point for the style and avoids the diacetyl I dislike in other ESBs.
T - Taste is a tad less sweet, with more toast and grain notes. Some definite hop bitterness late that is a bit more than anticipated but nothing excessive. Not overly exciting, but nothing really wrong either.
M - Surprisingly active carbonation for an English-style beer. Medium body, with a toasty texture. No alcohol, as expected. A touch of lingering stickiness.
D - This is a good representation of the ESB style, although I expected more from the 'fresh hops'. There's a bit more bitterness, but not much in the way of hop aroma or flavor. I like it a lot more than most ESBs, but it's not a style I enjoy much in general.
