Visited on a Sunday around 6pm. The place was about half full. I liked this place. First impressions matter and this place made a good first impression.
V - Typical industrial garage set up with a tap room right next for the brewery. Clean open bright. Picnic tables, high top long tables and window bar seating. Lots of outdoor seating with a gas fire pit. The facility backs up to the train tracks so there is a bit traffic and noise, but a decent vibe with lots of families with children. Easy walk from the hotels. One of those places that has board games to play. 4.0
Sel - Better than most for a late summer tap list with a black IPA and a saison, Mexican lager, as opposed to ten variations of a super hoppy ipa. 4.25
Ser - Boulder knows their Hokies. Welcoming and engaging. Thought there is technically no table service, it was slow enough that I was tended to. 4.25
F - Good taco food truck.

Visited on a sunny summer afternoon during COVID distancing measures. Friendly and efficient service, plenty of well spaced outdoor seating overlooking the train tracks, touchless ordering, tasty beers and trailer tacos all made for a winning combo. Bonus points for an espresso bar.

i havent been overly impressed with the cans these guys put out, which may have been part of the reason its taken me so long to get to their brewery. too bad i waited so long, this place is amazing. perhaps my favorite taproom in boulder, really its impressive. maybe a little off the beaten path, but work taking the short drive. its a great facility, with all sorts of cool wooden features including a little awning that wraps around the room, a long wrapping bar, a large patio that backs right up to the train tracks, a private event space, and glass windows into the brewery, which is far larger than i imagined it would be. the setting seemed amazing too, sun going down, old freight train stalled outside, and a cow farmer picking up spent grain out front. very cool scene in here, and quite a few more beers on tap than anticipated. looks like they only can a very few of the ones they do, as the beer list was pretty impressive. the imperial maple porter was the beer of the day, hands down, but all were tasty and interesting, and the vibe in here was as good as the beer. service was very friendly, and although the beer was a little pricey, it felt worth it to me when i was settling up. nobody ever talks about this place, and i think its a shame. i love it here, loved the beer and the atmosphere, and am looking forward to my next visit. killer patio too, summer will be fun here for sure. definitely worth a visit if you are doing the boulder brewery circuit.

Sadly, two of their lines were down at the time of my visit. Still, it's a fun and impressive taproom. Sit at the bar facing west, and the windows roll up to look out on the patio and passing trains.

Nice taproom in a industrial setting on the north side of Boulder. Crowd runs the gambit from hipsters to young families with kids. Typically have 6-8 of their in-house beers available on tap. They always have their 3 flagships - Black IPA, Saison and IPA available and then generally have a few other more interesting beers available. While the beers are generally pretty straightforward, the Black IPA is a standout. They generally have a Taco Truck on site with is pretty solid.

My slogan for Sanitas is "Pretty beer for pretty people"...hey, I'm not ugly, but I have to say this place has an environment that is so calculated euro/chic/hipster that I felt uncomfortable. The layout says "we are going to be so crowded in here because we are looking so good - check out the owl". The people drinking the beer (i.e. the culture) were equally appearance focused and not so much on the integrity of beer. I love beer and beer culture, but this is a nouveau-Boulder establishment hoping to draw in those wearing their $600 jeans and drinking "craft" beer because that's what "cool" people do in Colorado. We tried everything they had to offer. The only beer we could drink was the Black IPA. It was nicely balanced, roasty malt body and decent hop backbone. Would I go back for that one? Not likely.

It looks like no one has written a proper review of Sanitas yet, so I'll take the plunge.
First off, this place is crazy convenient to my office. If I walk along the tracks that give Sanitas' Train Beers their name, I can get here in less than five minutes.. However, if you're driving, it's not the easiest place to find. The brewery is in a row of warehouses that's tucked away next to a UPS distribution center. That said, word of mouth must be working, because there's usually a good crowd here.
I've had all of Sanitas' regular beers. All of them are above average to excellent brews. I have yet to taste a clunker. The Belgian Red is thus far my favorite. Having different glasses for each beer makes my inner geek very happy. The two Train Beers are also a nice touch. They're low ABV sessions beers that you can have a couple of without getting loopy. Also, you get a discount on them if a train has been by in the last 15 minutes, hence their name.
Although Sanitas is just a brewery, there's a taco truck right outside the door that seems to be a permanent fixture. Their food is good and you can of course take it into the brewery with you. In fact, it's a perfect setup. The truck can sell food without bothering to get a liquor license, while the brewery can serve food without needing a restaurant license. While I realize food trucks are a common site outside of CO breweries, none of them seem to have quite as a cozy a setup as these guys.
Even if Sanitas weren't so close to work, I'd still be back.
