250ml pour in a stemmed glass, almost a teku and almost a tulip.
Pours hazy, yellow, big fluffy head, lots of active carbonation. Smell is hopfenweisse. Banana, clove, citrus. Taste is more toward IPA, but still hopfenweisse territory. Citrus and banana and clove, lemon zest and pine resin bitter. Some grass, a hint of honeysuckle. Mouthfeel is light, thin, a tiny bit of stickiness. Overall, not bad.

December 2018: Sample from 330 ml bottle. Pale straw colour, large white head. Yeasty (too yeasty) aroma and flavour, noticeable bittering hops. Not great.

Quite simply the best beer I have tasted in a long time. Ratsherrn is a craft brewery in Hamburg in a country not short of good beers. Being British I was brought up on bitter beers with lots of hop flavour, this has lots of flavour with a tangy bitterness which is not so ‘bitter’; if the beer wasn’t so strong I would drink it alll night.
Superb effort!

From the bottle, it pours a nice hazy amber with a modest head, eventually reducing to a thin layer. Citrus and malt in the nose. Taste follows nose. Nice effort!

A: Pale Amber/dark golden, hazy.
S: Zesty lime and grapefruit.
T: Followed the nose, real sharpness at the finish, tasted like a Citra hopped beer.
M: Light texture, moderate carbonation.
O: Light summertime IPA, could have been mistaken for a lighter golden ale, really emphasised the Citra hop.

Looks very pale, almost like a Wit, with thick head. Smells like lemon and oranges with earthy notes. The taste is a hybrid of a classic fresh American IPA, a German Hefeweizen and a Wit. Something sour, but spicy, too. With a clear hoppy finish. Feels a little(!) thin and metallic, but very very refreshning. Worth a try!
