Arrives so black it seems to suck the light out of the immediate vicinity. Head is nearly non-existent, lace is absent.
Smell, sadly, is hanging out with the head. Just a faint whiff of semisweet chocolate and roasted malt. What's there is good.
Taste is toasty malts, semisweet chocolate, and a wee draft of an indeterminate spice note. Balance is fine.
Body is lighter than expected, medium really. Effervescence is restrained nicely. Thought there would be some warming but no. :(
All told, a good beer but well under their standards.

Had this one tap and out of a growler fro the brewery.

Poured nice with a smallish head and a great appearance, possibly too clean looking if that is possible.

The Buddha or at least the Boca location is known for the nose the beers have. This one is very simple.

Taste is smooth and straightforward nothing exotic other than a clean finish and non complex brown ale. Hides the abv well and a few of these could be dangerous!

Overall a good beer just not a great beer. I'd have one at the brewery when it is one I just would;t seek it out.

32 oz. growler poured into a snifter.

Appearance - Deep brown. Small khaki head.

Smell - Nutty brown malts. Caramel. Boozy.

Taste - Nutty and sweet. Caramel. Straightforward. Bitter in the finish.

Mouthfeel - Medium heavy and a little bitter.

Overall - Decent.
