Reviewed at the Funky Buddha brewery, served in a snifter.
A- Pours a translucent slight yellowish brown, definitely darker then I remember regular hop gun and fairly brown for an IPA, just a thin layer of white head forms receding to a flat top. Definitely not the most appealing looking IPA I've had.
S- Up front is straight jalapeño, some hops and pineapple lingering in the background. Fairly aromatic, if you like jalapeños you'll definitely like this aroma, not the balance I was looking for though.
T- Jalapeños up front with some watery pineapple, hops come out on the backend adding a nice citrus presence to backup the pineapple. Way better balance then the nose with the pineapple coming out more, just wish the pineapple was a bit fruitier tasting (not sure if they used real pineapple or if they just tried to imitate it with the hops).
M- Medium bodied, carbonation slightly lacking, very drinkable.
O- This was a decent beer with a unique twist on it however I think it could be much better. Definitely worth trying but not something that I'd go back to fairly soon. If you like medium spicy level beers then you'll probably like this.
