Notes: This Imperial version of our Piña Colada Ale is aged in Jamaican rum barrels for months and then blended with pineapple and coconut, just like the tropical drink. Beachbum Barry would be proud!

I tried this beer at the brewery with HomeBrew as part of a five sample flight. It poured a surprisingly hazy yellowish with thin white head that did not leave much lace. The scent had pineapple, rum and coconut goodness. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with pina colada flourish. The mouthfeel was mediumin body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

22oz bottle poured into a snifter

A- pours dark amber in color with a one-finger foamy white head that has good retention before settling to a ring

S- aroma is pretty spot on to a pina colada; bold rum barrel note is complimented with equal aromas of fresh coconut. Undertones of pineapple puree and vanilla cream

T- initial sweetness of vanilla cream and cream soda up front, followed by bold rum notes that add toasted sugar and molasses. Mid-palate brings out notes of coconut cream, coconut flakes and pineapple puree. The finish gives more vanilla, heavy whipping cream and rum that continues into the linger

M- medium body with moderate carbonation leads to a creamy mouthfeel that continues into the finish , abv hidden pretty well

O- as I've become accustomed to with FB, this beer tastes exactly as advertised. The barrel treatment and adjuncts all balance brilliantly with the base beer, giving it great drinkability

Interesting. Tastes more like a cola drink than a beer. Better at room temp than when cold. Slight hints of tropical fruit, good rum presence, easy boozy sipper after warming.

On tap at Cigar City in Tampa, FL.

This one pours a slightly hazy yellowish orange, with a small head and a good level of lacing.

Smells like coconut rum, toasted coconut, wheat, and sweet juicy pineapple. Is this beer?

This tastes like the beer version of a boozy pina colada. It's got all of the things you expect - spiced rum, lots of sweet coconut, and juicy juicy pineapple. It's simple but it's there. The wheat base gives a nice bitter balance.

This is medium bodied, super juicy, with a normal level of carbonation.

Another perfect replica of a non beer thing on beer form.

8oz pour in a snifter at the Funky Buddha Tap Room. Pineapple color with no head and moderate lacing. Smells like rum and pineapples. Taste like rum and pineapples. Would be enjoyable on the beach or by the pool. Very sweet dessert type beer.

Pours a hazy yellow with thin white head. Smells just like a piña colada. Tastes like a pina colada with a nice rum finish. Has an interesting feel to it, possibly because it tastes so similar to a pina colada but is not frozen. Overall a good beer, but I don't know if I could drink a full glass due to the robust flavor and smell.

On tap at the brewery. Served in a snifter.

Appearance - Clear orange. A little hazy. Small white head that doesn't last.

Smell - Weird. A little vinegar. Oak. Fruity. Sweet caramel. Smells sour.

Taste - Sweet pineapple. Funk and oaky. A little sour, but mostly sweet.

Mouthfeel - Low carbonation and heavy. Sweet and tangy.

Overall - Something went wrong here.
