on tap at the lounge, which is such a cool spot to hang! described by my brother as literally one of, if not the single most sour beers he has had, and i almost agree, this is insanely acidic, hard on the teeth and tongue and guts, and far more sour than the other flavored berliners they had pouring in there. it has a cool red orange color and looks a little thin, also relatively still. the blood orange is strong but natural in the aroma and the flavor, and it really stands above the very light wheat malt profile. what it doesnt stand above, because nothing could, is the aggressive lactic sourness in here, its not undrinkable, but its rough on the belly thats for sure. i find myself loving the flavor, but having a hard time with the acidity, refreshment is lost, and as good as the fruit is, i like this berliner on the whole a lot less than the key lime or the peach tea editions they also had working. combine the high acid content with the relative lack of carbonation, and the mouthfeel becomes a bit of an issue. this is cool beer, but it needs to be scaled back a bit to really serve its likely intended purpose...
