Notes:
We brewed this imperial stout to be big, bold and strong, like a bear-hugging Russian wrestler. A thick body using oats and lactose is complimented by plenty roasted barley and an extended stay inside Bourbon barrels with an addition of whole vanilla beans.

Thanks to Roguer for this one, from NBS BIF #10. Waxed (too damn much wax!!!!!!) 22oz bottle poured into 14oz tulip. Poured a solid black color with just a thin cap of tan head that had no retention or lacing.
The aroma had just the right amount of bourbon to complement the beer without overwhelming it, and the vanilla added a touch of sweetness to counterbalance the booze.
The flavor profile was the same, just better developed and defined. The vanilla stood out over time, and the bourbon was never in the way.
The body was a bit thin for the style, smooth, and had a mostly sweet finish.
Drinkability was very good, not sure I would have wanted the whole bottle to myself, but it was perfect for 2 folks to share.
Overall, a very nice take on the style. Worth trying if you see it.

Super glad for the opportunity to try so let's hurry and get to it.
Leaves a bubbly head and looks creamy pouring. Dark black in the glass, and it leaves a nice spotty lacing too.
Smells like a combination of chocolate, bourbon vanilla, with maybe a touch of tobacco and some boozy notes. Really good but has to be agitated for the full aroma.
Chocolate flavors are all over this. Chocolate covered cherries, melted marshmallows, vanilla, bourbon, caramel. Every thing this tastes like, just add that it's covered in melted milk chocolate. It's crazy.
This beer is super pillowy. A super creamy mouthfeel with almost no alcohol burn, which is actually hard to believe but it is barely noticeable.
Again, I am totally being stunned by the living barrel series. This is a superior, sweet, candy - shop of a stout. I wish it was easier to get, but that's the price to pay for geography. This is delicious and would strongly recommend it to anyone.
