Pours very dark for a saison, with an excellent head.
Nose is pleasant, slightly sharp and vinous for a saison (as expected), with otherwise nice rustic yeasty notes.
Flavor follows. It's certainly not bad; it's actually quite tasty. It is also, unfortunately, underwhelming. The barrel aging makes very little, if any, impact on the final product; same with the grape must. The champagne yeast definitely adds a lovely dryness. Other notes include white pepper, muted honey, wheat, and very slight citrus.

On tap at Das Biergarten. Clear golden. Smells yeasty. Clove, earthy yeast, Brett, grape. Tastes of banana, fruity, aggressively bitter yeast, sweet malt. Not much barrel, if any. Medium body. Medium carbonation. Nothing special.
