Got this one from rutger this past summer. Cheers!
From a bomber into a snifter
Imperial porter aged in barrels with coffee, maple syrup and natural flavors added
The Living Barrel Series
Not sure if this deserves its own entry but this bottle is labeled as the Living Barrel Series and it is 1% ABV higher than the other entry for Morning Wood.
APPEARANCE: Clear black pour yields a 2+ finger, medium looking, creamy, tan head with great retention. Black body with no real carbonation evident. Head slowly recedes to a full, wispy cap. A ring and touches of wisp remain but leave only falling dots of lacing down the glass as it empties.
SMELL: Nose is massive. Lots of roasted espresso beans, maple syrupy goodness, creamy vanilla, chocolate, butterscotch and toffee, with oak and bourbon aromas pulling it all together. Really bold and super enticing. Slaps you right in the face.
TASTE: Flavorful up front with roasted coffee beans, milk chocolate, creamy vanilla, maple syrupy sweetness, some bourbon barrel and alcohol at the swallow. Very flavorful. Bold and boozy finish of bourbon barrel, wood, sweet maple syrup, butterscotch and toffee, creamy vanilla and milk chocolate, with some decent roasted coffee bitterness lingering long after the swallow. Lots going on and very flavorful.
PALATE: Medium body and medium carbonation. Creamy on the palate, goes down smooth with a bit of a scratch and finishes somewhat mouth-coating. Some decent heat lingers.
OVERALL: This is excellent. The nose is just out of this world and the flavor does its best to keep up with the trend. This is what a maple-coffee stout should be like and reminds me that I need to try again to brew this kind of stuff myself. Not too many beers leave that kind of impression. Super aromatic, flavorful, and full of all the decadent good stuff that you could want, this one ticks all the right boxes and then some. Lovely. Thanks again, rutger! World class stuff right here.

This Imperial version of Maple Bacon Coffee Porter is aged in Bourbon barrels for months, lending smoothness to the smokey, salty, rich combo of maple syrup, fresh roasted coffee, and bacon-like flavor.
