On tap at the Lounge. Served in a snifter.

Appearance - Hazy pale yellow. Very yellow, really. No head on arrival. No bubbles.

Smell - Well, I'm no star fruit expert, but I'd say that's star fruit. Tropical. Lactic acidity. Kinda lime-y.

Taste - Sour lime juice flavor up front. Tropical fruits. Again, I'd definitely agree with a star fruit flavor. Grainy. Thankfully, this one has avoided that Theraflu flavor I often get from their berliners.

Mouthfeel - Crisp. Pretty sour, but not too much. Medium carbonation.

Overall - I'm not often a fan of Funky Buddha berliners, but this is tasty. Star fruit is one of those fruits that I don't know well enough to really pick out, but the fruit flavor in this one is really good.

On tap at Hunah Day. Pour is dark orange with a light haze and pure white head. Nose is big and bright with lots of star fruit and tropical fruit juice. Taste follows suit with a juicy tropical fruit and star fruit center, light zest to it with a faintly sour finish. Body is light and lightly carbonated.

On-tap at Hunahpu Day 2013. Served in a plastic cup.

A- Pours an opaque, well, starfruit yellow color, topped with a thin white head that recedes to a collar.

S- Very nice aroma of starfruit, lactic acidity and wheat. Straightforward but it smells great.

T- Very tart, spot-on for the style, with lots of lactic character. There's a great amount of juicy, vibrant starfruit, along with a mild, sweet wheat flavor.

M- Light-bodied, solid carbonation, very crisp, dry and refreshing.

O- A very good Berliner, the starfruit flavor was done really well, I had several glasses of this and could have had several more, a damn tasty beer.

Served on tap in a shaker pint glass

A - Slightly hazy pale copper amber with 1 finger white head with moderate retention and average bubbly lacing.

S - Cool citrus starfruit, grapefruit, and wheat notes.

T - Pretty sour start with the starfruit being showcased chiefly with nice wheat backbone and a touch of other citrus grapefruit and lemon notes.

M - Light body, moderate carbonation, crisp.

O - Pretty off the wall, nice experimentation brew, this one was a little more subtle than the lemon meringue Berliner, a least as subtle as you can be with a in your face sour starfruit beer. This fruit addition was a first among my beer experiences and I appreciate the effort, just a bit sour for my taste.
