First had: on tap at Funky Buddha, Boca Raton, FL

Dark brown pour, on the hazy side, with a few stray bubbles on the top, but no real head by the time it got to me. In the nose, doughy malts, clovey spice, fruit esters. The taste reflected the aroma, caramel malts, doughy, bready, stone fruits, mildly phenolic, but about on par for the style, clovey spice and fairly earthy overall. Pretty basic stuff, standard for the style. I'm not always in the mood for a Scotch ale, but this one wasn't bad. Medium body, pretty smooth and drinkable, with the higher ABV well-hidden.
