I think this is one of the best fruited wheat beers around. BIG blueberry impression on both the nose and taste but comes across as fresh blueberries and not a cloying sugary syrup. They may use that (I don't know) but the result tastes like fresh blueberry ice cream minus the ice cream. There is a bit or a herbalness to the finish...
If you want an excellent blueberry wheat. This is it.

Exactly how a blueberry wheat should taste.

Pours a hazy golden yellow with a head that sticks around for a little while, but still dissipates relatively quickly. Smells of freshly picked blueberries. Tastes wheaty with a very light blueberry flavor. Lingers on the palate for a decent while after the swallow. Mouthfeel very airy. Overall, a decent brew from a decent brewery. I wouldn't drink it all the time, but it's definitely nice to mix it up every once in a while.

Also known as Blueberry Train Wheat Ale. Clean taste, not cloying. Definite blueberry taste but not overpowering at all with fruit. Cloudy appearance.

Now that I am 1.5 hours north of the brewery, I am regretting not picking this up in bottles...especially at $16/4pk of 25oz bottles. Will definitely be stopping on the way home to pick some up....I love blueberries and on this side of a wild ale, this beer showcases them quite nicely.

Pours golden without much noticeable carbonation. The white head doesn't last very long. Minimal lacing sticks.
The smell is of a field of fresh blueberries.
The taste of blueberries is not as strong as in the nose. This works well, because the balancing malt gives it a blueberry muffin character. The blueberry taste leans much more towards "real" than "artificial", which is certainly a plus, resulting in a higher bump in the score. Finish is long - much longer than usual for the style. I was tasting blueberry a long while after finishing the one beer.
Another bubble or two wouldn't hurt, but I'm far from complaining and wouldn't want them to tinker with a very good brew, and it is certainly "refreshing" enough, and the flavor sure does linger in a pleasant way!
Overall, this is a very well-made brew. Nice to see a fruit beer that tastes like the fruit, and has a bready malt balance giving it added character. Very good for the style. If you are in the mood for blueberries and beer, I certainly recommend it!
