a wild beer with ethiopian coffee that to me is quite obviously of the highest quality and liberally added to the beer, and based on its majorly low acidity i would say post fermentation in a cold toddy sort of fashion, although its possible there are some beans involved, there is a primary source sort of energy to this thats hard to explain and quite different from other coffee beers with the addition of all the funk and wild acidity, really pretty unique and cool. its got a light brown shade to it from the java, but more of a copper color, crystal clear and heady from the tap, so cool these guys are sending beer out this way now! aroma has some unexpected sweetness to it, not sure where it comes from, like baked bread and vanilla and maple, odd but amazing with the coffee, possibly grain derived. the flavor has some of that too, lots of roast and dry cocoa powder character to the coffee, not too intense but bold still, minerals and almost no bitterness which is strange in a coffee beer, counteracted to some extent by a richer malt base than a lot of wilds have, an english crystal sort of thing going on. coffee is rich and luxurious and long, acidity is low but funk is mature and distinctive, better than it is in a lot of their others, and this has me coming around even more on their beers. one of my favorites from propolis that i have had so far, drinkable for what it is and really unique but in a simple and linear sort of way. worth the asking price!
