On tap at Rockaway Brewery, Far Rockaway, NYC.
Pours a clear caramel and amber color. A frothy and creamy layer of film retains throughout.
The nose briefly opens with a touch of fruity and floral hops. However, after that the aroma mostly highlights grainy malts, toasty and biscuity with notes of toffee and caramel.
Malty with a moderate sweetness but well balanced with smooth earthy bitterness. At 6.3% ABV, this Oktoberfest packs a gentle punch of alcohol spice that is pleasant. Flavors of toasted malts, biscuity brown bread, toffee, caramel, honey and a touch of fruity/floral hops flavors. The finish is crisp and dry with some lingering bitterness.
Medium bodied with a crisp mouthfeel and full chewy malts. The carbonation is moderate.
Solid Oktoberfest/Marzen faithful to the style. I would have again.
