A: The beer is essentially jet black in color—only traces of dark reddish brown are visible near the edge of the the glass. It poured with a quarter finger high dark tan head that died down a bit but left a wide collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of dark malts and cocoa nibs are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has flavors of dark malts with notes of cocoa nibs. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness and no sweetness is perceptible.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and somewhat dry on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. The dryness becomes stronger as the beer warms up.
O: I found this stout to be rather dry for a beer brewed with cocoa nibs.
