Nothing like enjoying a Rockaway Brewing Co beer at Rockaway Beach, Far Rockaway, Queens, NY.
From the can it pours a cloudy golden color. A large frothy and foamy white head retains very well, yields lots of lacing.
The nose opens with clean malt aromas. This is followed by notes of fruity and floral hops and sweet grass. Overall the aroma is pleasant and sweet.
Light bodied with a soft mouthfeel and easy going drinkability. Flavors of sweet bready malt, lightly doughy, are deftly balanced with lightly peppery spices, grassy and floral hops. A developing yet ultra clean hops bitterness adds a nice touch, as do the developing flavors of bright and pithy grapefruit rind. The finish is dry and sweet, while the carbonation is moderately gentle.
I really enjoyed this refreshing and crushable Blond Ale. I think I’ve found something that will be a staple in my fridge this summer.
