Poured from a 16 oz can (canned 11-2016) in a nonic pint glass.
Appear: thick dark motor oil poured abt a fingers worth of mocha dark brown head dense. Head didn't last long. Seems to still be well carbonated.
Nose: toasted rye bread. Bakers chocolate. Something a little earthy. Roasted coconut too maybe a little bit.
Taste: Big. Bakers chocolate for sure. A lot of roasted and toasted notes. And the booze is there for sure.
Mouth: pretty silly with the booze note.
Over: this could be my first RIS and so I might just not be a fan of the style. There aren't any off flavors. I think it's probably executed correctly. I just don't know that it's for me.

Pours totally pitch black with a small tan head that fades away. Thick, oily mouthfeel with flavors of dark malt, dark roasted coffee, and some chocolate and vanilla. Hides the 10%+ abv very well.
