From a 12.7 oz. bottle into a PAA whiskey glass, this beer pours out with a slick blackness. A thin crown forms, light caramel in color and settles into only a ring attached to the glass.
The nose brings in jammy fruit notes; raspberry, blackberry, slight strawberry and even grape mixing with dry wine notes, barrel, and even faint chocolate.
The taste brings in dry wine like grape notes, musty even. The jammy presence takes a backseat, but there is still fruit to be tasted, just in a more dry presence. Chocolate, barrel with leather paint the background. Dark chocolate covered fruit candies.
Dry throughout with low carbonation to let other notes shine. Medium-full with a little bit of stickiness.
Overall, it’s a very enjoyable beer with more balance throughout the layers than I expected it to bring.

Overall a very drinkable and enjoyable BA Imp Stout. Had on tap at RAR and the freshness really came through on look and mouthfeel. Taste showcased the rich 10 Layer flavor enhanced by wood and wine. Great job.
