Gifted a can. Interesting mix of barrels and adjuncts. Though unsure why cocoa thought a foot fit. But WTH…
Notes from 2/24/2023.
Beautiful rich bronze woodsy brown with decent tan head considering abv.
Soft subdued nose. Flavors pushed the barrel, booze and orange. Some distracting off taste, but might be self-fulfilling prophecy re cocoa nibs. A bit thin but still a nice sipper.
All in all glad I tried it.

Look: It pours brown with some slight hazing and very low head retention.
Smell: It has a strong rye and orange aroma with cherries and caramel. Alcohol is noticeable.
Taste: The flavors feature strong orange and rye flavors. There are some spicy elements to it with caramel, noticeable alcohol, and cherries.
Feel: It has a full body with strong alcohol warming.
Overall, a very different barleywine with not as much in the way of malty flavors, but a lot in the way of orange and rye.
