Out Of Order was one of the first “Smoothie Sour” series that I started seeing people post years back, yet somehow I haven’t gotten around to trying one. I’ve kind of always had a negative association with the series, and when I saw this on Tavour I (begrudgingly) took a chance on it. Let’s crack it open and see if it’s as bad as my perception of it
Pours a hazy burnt orange with 3 fingers of soapy light beige head that fades to a thin ring and leaves minimal lacing
The nose here is quite simple, but nicely balanced between sour and sweet. I’m picking up on aromas of peach rings, lemon zest, bready malt, pineapple juice, sweet honey, and light orange juice
In taste it leans a bit sweeter than I prefer, though it is still quite good. On the front end of the sip I’m tasting orange juice, peach rings, pineapple syrup, mango, bready malt, and light lemon zest. The swallow brings notes of pineapple syrup, peach rings, orange juice, lemon juice, sweet honey, bready malt, and light mango
A medium body pairs with gentle tingling carbonation, resulting in a slick beer. Finishes mostly dry and refreshing
While it is a bit on the sweet side, this is pretty enjoyable overall. It’s definitely better than I was anticipating though
