Picked up a 16 oz single after my volunteer stint at the Hop Fly Brewing Save the Whales festival in Charlotte 7-1-23. No canning date; consumed 2-8-24.
Beer poured a cloudy golden with very little head after an aggressive pour.
Nose is okay, some citrus and tropical hops.
Taste is a large pale malt base that gives notes of grapefruit and orange. Finish is sweet; lacks a good bittering hop; 3/10 on my scale.
Mouthfeel is medium to large bodied, without much carbonation, and smooth.
Overall a beer well past its prime, regret not having it this summer.

This was my second IPA of the day and long story short I think I'm losing my taste for the style.
It's got to be me, right? How else am I rating an imperial IPA as low as I am and all the while thinking that maybe I should drop it even more? Is it because it pushes the grapefruit more than the pine? Am I just getting old or has my palate been ravaged by the recent plague? I can't even bother cramming an ill-advised Foster the People reference. Who the hell am I?

Draft pour into a taster glass.
Hazy yellow gold appearance with a generous white foamy head and blotchy lacing. Fruity, citrus, grapefruit notes. Medium body and carbonation.
