Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a large, off-white head of foam. It smelled of pine and citrus. Very bitter with lots of pine and resinous hop character. Somewhat sweet and malty.

The beer is fresh - bomber has a date of 1-23-17. An IPA with pumello (or pomello - relative of the grapefruit) added. Nice cute Mayan line art. Pours an attractive dark amber with a thick head. So far, so good. Very light aroma of beer and not much of that. Taste is underwhelming, some bitterness to a modest malt background. No sign of any citrus anywhere. The beer leaves an odd, not bad, but odd aftertaste. The label states, "Deliberately unbalanced..." So there's truth in labeling.

Appearance: Was a deep golden amber color. Bright clarity. Looked like honey.
Smell: Malty. Not much hop aroma coming off this one. Smelled sweet.
Taste: Tastes as sweet as it smells. Pretty malty flavors. honey sweetness and then a short bitter flavor that ends fairly quickly and a very slight lingering bitterness. Not terribly complex.
Mouthfeel: Medium-full bodied weight.
Overall: Not too much going on here. Not simplistic beauty, but not complex medley either.

Honey straw. Pour with small white fluffy head that dissapeared quickly. Light citrus and piny hops noted right after pour, no real scent noted minutes later. Flavor is pretty mild. No major floral, citrus, or pine flavors typically expected from an IPA. A bit of an off after taste.

Was looking forward to trying this as I heard that it was popular in the West Metro. Beer poured a sort of hazy copper color with almost no head. Almost zero aroma which was shocking for an IPA. Flavor was ok, but hints of astringency lingered and there did not appear to be a play between malt and hops. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything I would ever order again. The 8% abv added to a biting harsh aftertaste, which doesn't have to be there on an 8% beer if brewed well. When compared to so many solid if not great IPA's in the area, this one is even more lacking. I'll have to try again to see if this was a fluke, but as is - pass.

This beer pours a slightly hazy bronze color. The head is small and vanishes within seconds. The aroma is tangerine and grapefruit with hints of passion fruit. There is also a chalky almost Smarties candy note in the back of the aroma that is very pleasant. The aroma is not quite as bold as I'd expect from a 7% ABV IPA, but what is there is nice. The taste is likewise softer than most IPAs, but works for me nonetheless. The chalky candy thing is still there and makes the citrus hop flavors really pop. Bitterness is modest, but hops are there for sure. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a velvety texture, and moderate carbonation. Overall, I like this beer, and would happily drink it again. I wouldn't go as far as calling it one of the top IPAs in Minnesota, but if I were to find myself in Victoria I would definitely drink one in their taproom.
