Pours a finger of tan fizzy head over a cloudy plum mahogeny liquid. Smells off. Bourbon, cherry, dark caramel, some smoked malt, and a little bit of chocolate.
Tastes bourbon, soured boozy, smoke, dusty caramel, waxy oak, and hazelnut. Strong alcohol sting is very sharp and oaky. Rough and drying beer. Medium in the mouth, with noticeable dextrins. Modest carbonation. Not what I was expecting. The barrel wasn't integrated into the beer very well. Rated as a barrel-aged beer.
