Did BBF refurbish this? YUM! Such a nice brew! Gorgeous straw haze. Aromatic af. Maybe its best element. Unique and superb hop play… harmonic marriage of hb 638, mosaic, nectaron.. Medium body. Carries its 7.3 flawlessly, really nimble. Not too oaty or yeasty. Starts with subtle bitterness and medium light carbonation. Finishes pretty sweet and sticky and wet in a great way.

Pours a hazed gold with 3 fingers of rocky ivory colored head. stellar lacing 7 good head retention

S: A little pine, a little citrus, some grassyness

T: Follows the nose, a cakeyness & dryness as well up front. A little orange and mango as this warms, dryness & woodyness as this warms. Finishes catty, piney & dry & just a little orange

MF: Medium body, restrained carbonation, good balance

Easy to drink. I presume this would be much better if it hadn't been canned in August

Poured from 12oz can into glass. Can bottom is stamped 'CANNED ON 08/14/2018'.
Slightly cloudy, pale gold colored body. Two fingers of white head upon pouring settle back to interrupted cap and ring. Some bubbly spots of lacing are left behind.
Aroma of citrus and piney hops, with a little whiff of malts.
Taste has sweeter tropical (orange, mango, and pineapple) plus a more bitter aspect from piney hops. Solid malt underlay. Has a short taste profile, which concludes with a vague effervescence.
Thin to medium mouth feel. Every sip brings some tongue burn. Good carbonation.
More of an old school IPA, but without high bitterness. Easy to drink. Middle of taste profile has a fruity sweetness.

this isnt a bad beer, blackberry farm is probably never going to make a bad beer, but this is definitely one of the most basic and least impressive offerings i have had from them, contracted out, which seems weird for a farm brewery to do. its a rather basic ipa type, almost on the edge of being pale ale, without a lot of dry hopped character or too much bitterness, and with a pretty significant malt profile backing up and balancing the hops, certainly more old school than new with the crystal richness in here. the hops smell and taste very piney to me, but sort of dumbed down, not as forward and fragrant and fresh as they could be, but alas the can has a couple of months on it already by the time it makes it to my lips. some dankness here, but weighty with the caramel element in the malt, and an almost bready balance to this, drinks sturdy despite good carbonation. a touch watery in the feel, but still lively, relaxed lingering bitterness at the end and a citrus zest element as well. this is a sort of standard ipa, nothing about it to really set it apart, which might be fine for most breweries, but is well below the level i have come to expect from blackberry farm! one of the few beers of theirs that did not leave a lasting impression on me...

I absolutely love this. I live close to blackberry farms and had no idea they made beer. I thought they just did wine. Anyway, its just bitter enough and the taste is amazing.

Thanks to JHartley for this one. 12oz can poured into 12oz tulip. Poured a cloudy (almost "Hazy" according to the current vernacular) yellow-orange color with less than 1/2 inch of white head that had good retention, and light-medium lacing.

The aroma started out with a huge blast of pine, citrus, and a fruit aspect I couldn't quite pick. There was a very slight malt presence. Given my personal capabilities, taste is usually more well defined than aroma, this was one of the exceptions. The flavor profile was similar to the olfactory, but muddier.

The body was pleasantly smooth, mild, and crisp, with a finish that was drier than medium, but not truly dry. Drinkability was great, I could easily knock back a few pints at the bar, or drill a sixer at a cookout. Overall, a very nice take on the American IPA, more than a "should try", but just barely short of a "must try" if you see it. Very recommended.

12 oz. can poured into a mini IPA glass.

Bit hazed orange straw, foamy and tall off-white head. Settles into thin cap.

Citrus and earthy pine dominate the aroma with a hint of floral hops.

Balanced hops and hint of cracker and sweet malt. Citrus and resinous hops.

Moderate carbonation and medium body, crisp and clean.

Nice balanced brew, goes down easy.
