750 mL bottle. Pours deep orange amber and then some chunks flow in and murk it up. Smells of ginger, some sort of berry, and the acidic part of rhubarb. Classic BFB yeast behind it. Tastes more dominated by the beer than the fruit than it smelled. Berry and a light malty sweetness. Yeasty funk with an earthy and spicy flavor. Ginger really kicks in in the finish. Medium body. Very enjoyable and far more adjunct-forward than I expected from BFB.

a less common blackberry farm bottle right here, a generous gift and one we opened with much anticipation. i think its been in the bottle a little while now, and as such has likely faded a little bit, but it has all the subtle complexity that so many blackberry farm beers have, and was a treat to share with some good friends. it has a nice pink color to it with high levels of carbonation, huge bubbles rising and popping, almost looks like a soda, the head is slow to fade. it smells very tart, perhaps a little more sour than most of their other stuff, but still not particularly acidic. the blueberry skins give it a tannic presence and a little sweetness, while the ginger is surprisingly robust in the mix, spicy and natural, which is true in the flavor too. rhubarb may also contribute to the perceived tartness here, but i dont get its flavor as much, well integrated and maybe faded some too, always hard to actually taste rhubarb in beer, but its contribution is still evident. sparkling carbonation raises up the blueberry and the spice of the ginger, a unique combination, especially compatible with this rustic saison type yeast, peppery and funky. the fruit is subtle in this, agreeable, suggesting spring and summer, and all the life it has with the carbonation is just right. easy drinking and well made, a cool combination of ingredients and another delicious beer from these guys!

Bought at Beer 30 in cage and corked bottle.

L: Pours a medium amber with a fairly active half finger peachy / white head. Head dissioates rapidly leaving no lacing.

S: The saison yeast is the most forward note. It is pleasant, but I was hoping for some more sour or tart notes from the rhubarb. Instead the secondary note is blueberry sweetness.

T: as expected from the scent, this is mostky a pretty basic saison with just subtle fruity flavors. The blueberry is present and interesting. I get a tiny bit of the rhubarb flavor bit was dissapointed it was not a more dominant player. The label mentions ginger, but I am not feeling that presense up front. Aftee letting it linger on the back of the pallette you get a bit of the ginger zing on the backside.

F: Fairly light bodied. Easy fruit that is subtle and allows the saison's badic nature to dominate.

O: Generally acceptable. I have a history with rhubarb, and maybe it isnt fair to look for flavors of my childhood to be celebrated in a beer, but I'm left wanting more tart and sour notes to give this okay beer a kick that is just missing. On the other side it is well executed in a more traditional sense. It is good beer.

A: The beer is hazy amber yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a half finger high white head.
S: Light aromas of blueberries and rhubarb are present in the nose.
T: The taste has lots of flavors of blueberries along notes of rhubarb and yeast and hints of ginger in the finish.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The blueberry flavors really stand out in this saison, which make this beer unique compared to others in the style.
