This beer is defined by its pronounced hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. It has a solid malt backbone that works with the citrusy American hops. The hop bouquet resonates like flavors of tangerine and ruby red grapefruit. The mouth feel is crisp and dry leaving a balance of bitterness and rich malt on the palate. It is golden honey in color.

I tried this at the brewery. It poured a clear golden with white head that did not leave much lace. The scent had subtle lemon citrus notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with faint belgian flare and lemon presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it was a decent beer.

on draft at highland tap and burger yesterday, this is a tasty and refreshing brew, perfect for the oncoming spring (which is now running late), and very easy drinking. its bright yellow in color, crystal clear, and holding up an full inch of white fine head. the nose is all belgian yeast, a robust but generic strain with taffy and bubblegum esters, white grape, green apple, pear, and even peach going on in the smell. a pale malt base is relatively nondescript, except for being a little fuller bodied than other beers in this family. the yeast is the main flavor agent too, and while i am very familiar with the strain, its even more pronounced here due to the relative lack of other flavors going on, and possibly a warmer fermentation temperature. those fruits are there, but the sweet candy side is gone from the aroma, replaced by a sherry kind of flavor that really tastes pretty good. this is a style that can go wrong in a hurry, so props to these guys for doing it well. its relatively simple and not overdone. not the most dynamic belgian style beer happening in colorado right now, but a nice easy drinking one that will be fun for summer.
